Charles (Carl) Bloedorn
| Charles (Carl) Bloedorn is a native of Fond du Lac and served in many capacities to the sport of ice hockey throughout his lifetime. One of the “old-time hockey people”, Bloedorn’s hockey career began on the frozen rivers, ponds and lakes in the Fond du Lac area and spanned three decades as a player, referee, fund raiser and builder for the Fond du Lac Bears and the Fond du Lac Blue Line Hockey Club. As a referee, Bloedorn worked from 1939-1972 in the Wisconsin Senior Amateur Hockey Association, the Rock River Hockey League, the Wisconsin State League and the Wisconsin/Michigan Hockey League. For many of these years, Bloedorn worked unpaid as an official and even traveled with the Fondy Bears and
helped with the teams travel expenses. |
