Mark Greenhalgh

2025 Inductee
Mark Greenhalgh, or “Greenie” as he is widely known throughout the Wisconsin Hockey Family, was born and raised in Janesville, Wisconsin where he played for the newly organized Janesville Youth Hockey program.

Carol Marshall was born and raised in Madison and raised her family in the Capitol City.  Like many who came to love the sport of ice hockey, she didn’t play youth or even high school hockey,

Mark Mazzoleni

2025 Inductee
Mark Mazzoleni was born in Green Bay and played youth hockey for the Brown County Youth Hockey Association.

Mark Mazzoleni was born in Green Bay and played youth hockey for the Brown County Youth Hockey Association.  He attended Premontre High School and was the starting goal tender in 1973 and 1974 for Hall of Fame inductee George Wrobel.  In 1972, Mazzoleni qualified for the National Midget Tournament in Boston where he was coached by John Mayasich.  In 1974 he advanced through the USA Hockey Midwest Regional and qualified for the National Junior Tournament in St. Paul.

After high school, Mazzoleni went on to be the first Green Bay native to play Junior Hockey for the St. Paul Vulcans under Doug Woog in 1974-75 and 1975-76.  He was awarded an athletic scholarship to Michigan State University following the 1975-76 season.  He was the starting goaltender for four years at Michigan State and was awarded the Most Valuable Freshman Award in the 1976-77 season, and the President’s Award for Academic Excellence following the 1979-80 season.  Mazzoleni completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree at Michigan State and went on to obtain his Master of Science Degree at the University of Chicago.

 While working on his master’s degree at the University of Chicago, in 1981, Mazzoleni served as the Assistant Hockey Coach/Recruiting Coordinator.  His coaching career as either a collegiate or Junior assistant or head coach would span 33 years as he made the journey from Chicago Circle to Stevens Point (1985-91), to the University of Minnesota (1991-94), to Miami of Ohio (1994-99), to Harvard University (1999-2004) to the Green Bay Gamblers (2004-09) and finally to St. Norbert College (2009-14).  Along the way, Mazzoleni would also serve as the Director of Athletics at UW-Stevens Point (1990-91).  During that coaching career, he would touch the lives of countless players and would follow their careers both personally and professionally as time passed.  Some of the highlights of his coaching career include two ECAC conference championships, three NCAA Division III National Championships and multiple year participation at the NCAA Division I and NCAA Division III National Championships.
 
Mazzoleni’s other achievements include US Olympic Festival Head Coach, Team South, Silver Medal in 1995; CCHA Coach of the Year in 1997; UW-Steevens Point Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999; President, American Hockey Coaches Association in 2000, and Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) All-time Ice Hockey Coach for the conference “AllTime Men’s Ice Hockey Team” in 2012.  Mazzoleni and his wife Karen live in De Pere and have four children.
